It makes for a very good first impression. The T20 just has a bit more energy and speed in its low-end response to make it a more engaging experience. If there any are compromises to be made, they’re so minor I haven’t realised they were made. The T20 has a small soundstage but deeper hitting bass and thicker note making it better for modern stuff. I was on the fence myself during the review and it wasn’t until I threw it into a Bakoon HPA-01M portable amp and a dose of Major Lazer did I get blown away by the sheer brute force and depth of the bass the T10i was capable of. This is worrying as I’m planning to buy this. The treble filter attenuates bass response, making it easier to pick out high notes and resonances. Just like the Bakoon, I can’t reach a zero noise level also on the pot with audio still noticeable even at zero and I have slightly less play on the volume pot than I had with the T10i. In theory, whatever reservations I had about the T10i should be blown away by the T20’s revamped sound signature. The presence of the “traditional” cable with a 3.5 mm jack makes it possible to listen to music indefinitely – or as long as the source’s charge lasts. If we use notches from 1 to 5, how many notches up do I get in subjective improvement in terms of musicality, details and “omph” with the A73 as the baseline? Any reaction from the manufacturer ? The T20 midrange is a whole different ball game now to the T10i. We thank RHA for this opportunity. Feel free to leave a comment. This can be an issue if the source’s volume is too high even when it is at its lowest setting (which is exactly what I experienced, alas). The shells are made of steel painted black and are extremely well made, with an odd smooth-yet-rough surface finish. It’s still a looker, blemish-free, and a very robust earphone much like the T10i. Whilst both technically have a fun signature the T20 is the more accurate of the two with a cleaner and more extended treble performance and a more convincing vocal presence. It really makes the older T10i driver seem the more inefficient one by far. The seal of the T20 is just excellent at this price range, or at any price range for that matter for a universal IEM. Although the RHA T10i is excellent in its own right, the RHA T20 is an impressive step up. The latter offers almost the same experience as that of the T20i Black, with the most obvious difference being it having MMCX terminations; it is otherwise identical but for the ear hooks. As such I consider this one as my personal ‘reference filter’ but I can well understand why others would choose the labeled reference filter as their tuning of choice given its good balance between fun and accuracy. In this case the hiss is low in volume, but enough to be audible if you are listening quiet tracks at low volume. The T20 is a more flexible IEM for pairing with DAPs over the older T10i especially now with the filters having a more desirable switch up on the signatures than before. It is also the first time RHA has shown to us their new proprietary DualCoil™ driver technology which separates the coils and focuses each one on different aspects of the frequency range response. 6 pairs, dual density ear tips – S x2 / M x2 / L x2, 2 pairs, double flange ear tips – S x1 / M x1, 2 pairs, memory foam ear tips – universal fit. I say roadblock more like a speed bump in taste rather than technical ingenuity because the T10i was pure eye candy at just under $200 and at that time the most expensive unit in the RHA range. Please note that you should write in English, and comments in other languages will be deleted. Build quality is very, very good, with no apparent weak points – save for the MMCX connector, which alas is notoriously more prone to breaking than alternatives. (I’m joking, do it now!). RHA T20 review: High-end earphones with steel earpieces and much-improved sound over their predecessors. This site uses Akismet to reduce spam. Each filter now has a defined effect that I find favorable and interesting whereas before the T10i treble filter was the only filter I found to have the best balance. However, it doesn’t continue to rise as you transition further into the upper range instead preferring to gently level off beyond 5k with some minor ups and downs. The MA750 single dynamic driver for under a hundred quid really upped the expectations of what a relatively cheap earphone could and should sound like. The ability to go from wired HD audio to wireless is nice. This time it has more of an edge, especially in the upper midrange vocal presence.
